LEE ANNE: EVERYONE WE TALKED TO WHO LIVE IN THIS AREA TOLD US THEY HAVE HEARD OF THE EXPLOSION OR HEARED IT THEMSELVES. SOME TOLD US IT BLURRED THEIR HOUSES, OTHERS SAY THEY JUST HEARD A LOUD KNOCK. THE EXPLOSION WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATIONS, THEY WERE ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT A SMALL DEVICE WAS TRIGGED NEAR A TREE. THE EXPLOSION CAUSES MANY QUESTIONS AND CONFUSION IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD FRIDAY. DETECTORS FROM THE DEPARTMENT’S EXPLOSIVES ORDERING UNIT INVESTIGATE. According to the Sacramento Police Department, no one was injured but a tree was damaged after a “small device” was set off near a tree.
“I just heard this very loud, big explosion,” said Jourdan Major, who also heard it.
Ten-year-old Tommy Price said he was playing with a friend when he too heard the explosion. He told KCRA 3’s Lee Anne Denyer that he feared it was a gunshot.

Police said they were investigating and detectives from the Explosive Ordnance Unit were called to the scene on Thursday evening. They’re still hoping tips will come in, the department said.
