Best Modern Warfare 2 Loadouts for Ranked Moshpit and CDL | EarlyGame

For the CDL Moshpit and ranked mode in Modern Warfare 2, players are forced to use competitive settings. When it comes to loadouts, this drastically limits the number of weapons and equipment we can choose to use. Here are the best weapon builds for competitive play, along with our suggested loadouts for the competitive play modes: Hardpoint, Search, and Control.

In the CDL Moshpit and Ranked Playlists, players use the exact same competitive settings that the pros use in the CDL. In Competitive Call of Duty, all weapons other than ARs and SMGs are banned, as are most grenades and perks. The idea is to get rid of anything that might be broken and offer free kills, which is a ton of stuff in CoD.

Below you can find the best competition-compliant attachment setups for current meta-weapons, one for the M4 and one for the Vaznev-9K. We’ve also provided our suggested grenades and perks for each of the competitive modes: Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Control.

To note: While the Kastov-74u and Fennec 45 are both solid weapons, and can be equipped in Ranked and CDL Moshpit, that’s just because the devs are slightly behind. The pros have already GA’d these two weapons, and so in a few weeks, if not days, they will no longer be available for pick up in the Ranked or CDL Moshpit playlists. For this reason, we haven’t bothered to do any loadouts for these weapons, we think it’s worth getting used to for everyone with the current pro meta: the M4 and the Vaznev.

How to Create Custom Classes for Classified Moshpit and CDL

When you load into a game from Ranked or CDL Moshpit, none of your normal classes will be available, instead you will see your competitive custom class slots. These are completely separate from your regular custom classes. Here’s how to access and modify your competitive custom classes:

1. Create a private lobby.
2. Choose a CDL game mode.
3. Tab to “Weapons”, and you’ll now see a new list of custom classes.
4. These are your competitive classes, you can edit and save them in the private lobby.
5. Load into a Moshpit or Ranked CDL mode and you can choose one of your competitive classes.

It’s annoying that this is the only way to edit them, but with all bugs in MW2 and Warzone 2this is to be expected.

We advise you to create the following classes from your ten slots, as a reference:

• Hardpoint AR
• Hardpoint SMG
• SnD AR That.
• SnD AR Def.
• SnD SMG Att.
• SnD SMG Def.
• Control AR Att.
• AR Control Def.
• Control SMG Att.
• SMG Control Def.

Although, if you’re strictly an SMG or AR player, and you know you won’t choose the other option, you obviously don’t need to create classes for the other weapon. We’ll cover the perks and gear choices for each of these classes later, but the actual attachment setup for the AR and SMG won’t change between modes..

This is spec’d for low recoil and long range, but if that’s too slow for you, consider changing the stock to the Tempus. And if you really don’t like the iron sights on the M4, ditch the Muzzle Break for a 1x.

A lot of people don’t like Kastov’s default iron sights. If that’s you then don’t worry too much about putting a 1x like the Slimline pro on the weapon, the slower handling speeds are negligible.
